Splendid Spring Beauty Treatments (SWG)

There’s nothing more relaxing than a day at the spa, especially during the warmer months, which we are fast approaching. Our skin and bodies tend to take a beating from the elements but if a spa isn’t accessible or affordable then these home treatments are the answer.

Citrus Salt Scrub
For a silky smooth skin, start off by mixing 1 cup of sea salt and a 1/4 cup of olive oil or coconut oil. Then add 1/2 a teaspoon of lemon juice and mix well. And voila you have an exfoliator

Avocado Mask for dry skin
Avocado is well known for its moisturizing powers. Mash up 1/2 of a ripe avocado, and combine with 1/4 cup of honey. Mix well and apply mask to a clean face. Leave it on for 10 minutes.

Strawberry Mask for acne-prone skin
Acne is never fun to deal with but try this strawberry mask to fight breakouts and sooth your skin. Take 1/4 cup of fresh strawberries and mash them together with 1/4 cup of plain yoghurt. Spread the paste on your face and wash after 10 minutes. Strawberries are a natural source of salicylic acid, a common acne treatment and yoghurt calms irritated skin

Rose water foot bath
With summer on the way, open toe and backless shoes will be on top of the to-wear list so dry, cracked feet aren’t ideal. A rose water foot bath will exfoliate, refresh and soothe your feet.
Get a large bowl and combine, but don’t mix, 1/2 cup of sea salt and 2 tablespoons of rose water. Cut up the stems of mint and mash it into the other ingredients, add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and mix well. Once everything is mixed, fill your bowl/tub with warm water and soak feet for 20-30 minutes

The P.G.L

Pilot Girlfriend Life . . .

So, clearly you can pick up that i am dating a pilot. and surely its waaaaaay easier being a pilot girlfriend instead of a pilot's wife. My guy is currently away on a trip (not really a long one) but should be coming home today, hopefully. . . You never know with these pilot. tisk tisk tisk.

He flies light aircraft? if you can call them that, and is absolutely inlove (thats not even the most correct or suitable word) with these. Im new to this whole environment and the "pilot language". my boyfriend and his dad who's also a pilot can talk for ever about their job and planes and the weather and what ever else to do with being a pilot and im sitting there thinking what the hell are these people going on about, clueless, lost, oh my gosh, but im learning and getting used to it. hehe

Oh and by the way. . .Mr. Pilot boyfriends suggested that i blog about the P.G.L =)

i think the idea of dating a pilot is quite challenging but also so exciting. My boyfriends a pilot, and im a student studying to be a graphic artist or interior designer. Two completely different career choices!! im not judging other men's career choice or anything, but pilots for a fact are way more exciting than the average joe, sorry. . .

So boyfriend like i have mentioned is absolutely smitten with these machines. here is a preview of some of his favourites that he has flown himself : (not to brag or anything hehe)

You see, now a pilot would say that is so sexy. but i think being on the other end, being the GF, the idea of your man going on about these aircrafts and speaking pilot language, is pretty sexy!

But anyway. . . i cant say yet that its hard dating a pilot, the journey has only been fun for me thus far. we seem to have an amazing relationship, we dont really fight at all, just argue sometimes but the issue get resolved sooooo quickly unlike other times i can refer to in the past but lets not go into that, we always have each other guessing as what is to happen next, maybe you can say this is a great compatibility coz we are complete oppositites but somehow we are very much alike interset and beliefs wise. we are extremely competitive with one another haha its rediculous. you see pilots have egos (hehe sorry babe) or any man in general, they HAVE to win, its natural, but then woman we also hate losing but when we do we deal with it and try again hehe. now im talking about me losing a game of lets say Rummicup, and boyfriend has been kicking my ass for the past 5 rounds and then when i win FINALLY he gets a little un easy or upset hehe. so cute but alteast i can get him to keep playing. my guy is pretty amazing, and what every body out there say about a pilot is not also true. dont be stereotyping no more!!

i love how everything is so organised in (some) pilots life, but yes my man is organised. reason being, when he took me flying with him for the first time (gosh that was so exciting) he walked me through the whole procedure and how what works etc etc he would have to do his checks over 3 times until he feels confident that we can get airborne. its really appealing and interesting to watch. ofcourse i wasnt listening to a word he was saying and just holding thumbs that nothing will go wrong and he will save me haha. Pilots just seem to have it figured out, they are so different and live in a world of their own.

one thing that i willand can definatelly admit to is that we all have to make sacrifices now and again, and it honestly is not that hard, it is rewarding in the end!
